How can we help?

We provide a safe, secure and confidential setting where personal issues, problems, thoughts and feelings may be examined and changes considered.

Your Counsellor will listen and prompt in a non-judgemental manner with empathy and understanding, helping you to explore whatever issues are troubling you.

Your Counsellor will work through a problem with you rather than giving advice, in order to help you find your best way of coping with any issues, relationship problems, thoughts or feelings that may be causing you concern.

The counselling you receive at OACS may be short or open ended. After an initial assessment you will normally be offered an appointment with a counsellor as soon as a place becomes available.

After the first counselling session you will, by agreement with the counsellor, be offered a number of further weekly sessions, normally six to start with, followed by a review in order to determine future requirements.

Our counselling is voluntary, independent, non-profitmaking and there is no set fee involved however we do ask for a weekly donation which is agreed by both parties.
